Join OutLoud this Saturday in welcoming some Columbus firefighters to the Center on High at 11am. They will talk about a bit about what it means to be a firefighter, what the job entails, and the benefits of serving our community. They will also be available for all your questions and answers. Firefighters!!! First things first, we’ll give Columbus Firefighters the floor to talk about their recruitment drive and what it takes to be a firefighter. They will be there at 11am. A firefighter is one of those jobs we all wanted to be when we grew up, so after they take off, we’ll keep on truckin’ down that road. We’ll talk about what we wanted to be when we were little and how it changed from then to now. Also, we’ll incorporate looking back at our childhoods to see if there were any signs we can identify now that might have pointed towards our sexual identification and gender identity back then. Perhaps things such as early crushes, behaviors, and activities, etc. might have hinted at our futures.
Women’s Coming Out Group Forming
A new group for women who are coming out is forming! Interest had been expressed by a number of women within multiple organizations that use the Center On High for such a group to exist. A few ladies have now begun the process of forming and making the group official and are looking for women to help facilitate and women who are interesting in joining the group! Send your name and contact info to TinaMarie at [email protected] or drop by the Center on Saturdays between 11am-2pm and we’ll get your info to her. Look for the group to be up and running by Spring!
